Information on Spaying/Neutering Your Pet
Campbell County requires that all adult animals adopted from the Animal Shelter be spayed/neutering within 30 of adoptions. Puppies and kittens must be spayed/neutered at six months of age. Owners must submit proof of the procedure to the Animal Shelter within this time frame or face prosecution.

Benefits of Spayed/Neutered Animals |
 |
Spaying and neutering remains the best method of controlling the pet population in the county. By having these procedures, your animals will be incapable of reproducing with other local animals.
Spaying female animals dramatically reduces the chances of the female developing certain types of cancer. Neutering a male animal before he reaches adulthood will also reduce the possibility that he will develop cancer. Additionally, neutering your animal will reduce the possibility that he will become aggressive towards other animals and people, including owners.
