The Section 8 Waiting List has reopened. Applications are available at the Housing Department for pick-up only. Applications may not be completed on site.

Please note: All applications require a criminal history record request to be submitted with the pre-application for each household member age 18 or older. If your household requires more than one criminal history record request, please either request more copies of the criminal history record request document or make additional copies of the document provided. Pre-applications will not be accepted unless a criminal history record request had been completed for each adult household member.
The Housing Department will accept completed applications in-person only beginning January 9, 2006 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Housing Department will not accept applications through the mail.

Campbell County Awarded Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator Funding Grant |

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced that Campbell County is a recipient of the 2006 Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator Funding Grant in the amount $46,445.00. The funding is from HUD's Housing Choice Voucher Family Self-Sufficiency (HCV/FSS) program that provides grants to public housing agencies and FSS coordinators. FSS coordinators link adults in the HCV program to local organizations to provide job training, childcare, transportation, and job placement.

The Section 8 Voucher Program was established by the Federal Government. Locally, it is administered by the Campbell County Department of Housing under contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program offers subsidized rent of low income families.
Section 8 is a federally funded Housing Assistance Program (HAP) and allows individuals to chose privately owned housing in Campbell County and other areas in the state and country. Applicants are encouraged to locate housing outside of impoverished neighborhoods and areas.
The Campbell County Housing Department administers Section 8 assistance to Campbell County (excluding Newport) and Pendleton County.
