Statewide Severe Weather Drill |
 |
Campbell County will be participating in the statewide severe weather drill on March 7, 2006 at 10:07 am. At this time, the Campbell County state of the art Outdoor Warning system will be activated, tone alert weather radios will sound and the Insight Cable override will be activated. If severe weather is in the area at the time of the test it will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.
The Campbell County Outdoor Warning System is designed to alert residents in designated areas throughout the County. Upon hearing the sirens residents are encouraged to seek shelter and tune to local media outlets for further information.
NOAA weather radios now referred as Hazard radios will be activated. The will be activated by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, OH. Older radios without the SAME (Specific Area Messaging Encoder) technology will open. However, radios with the SAME technology may not open if you have the TEST code disabled. It is recommended that the TEST code be enabled; this allows for you to receive the weekly tests and verify the operation of your radio.
