The Campbell County Senior Center is opened Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 3 PM. All seniors regardless of income or race, etc. have an opportunity to participate in activities. The Center is conveniently located within walking distance of the bus stop on Martha Layne Collins Blvd.
The Senior Center is a wellness based center. More than 20 different activities are offered each week. Here is the Senior Center Activity Calendar

A variety of health and wellness programs are offered including: exercise classes, Tai Chi, Yoga, dancing, arthritis classes, Diabetes management, walking programs, annual Flu shots, blood pressure and other health screenings, use of equipment, health assessments, and even massages.
The Senior Center also offers activities such as bingo, painting classes, arts and crafts, corn hole tournaments, chair volleyball, card games, a band that visits nursing facilities, even Ronald McDonald House. Monthly special events are held such as Halloween parties, cook outs, movies, ice cream socials, even covered dish specials. Each month the staff plans a travel event, sometimes to the B&B Riverboats or sometimes to a dinner and theater.
There is always one activity available that interests each participant. Computers are available for the internet lovers as well as a library. Special educational and informational programs are offered each month. There is never a dull moment.
If seniors want to participate in the wellness programs, a registration must be approved by the doctor. Here is the Wellness Center Registration Packet

The Center won two National Awards. In 2006, the NuStep Corporation presented the Pinnacle Award for "Best Senior Citizen Programming". In 2007, the American Society on Aging and the Nation Council on Aging presented the center the "Best Practices Award" for health promotion with senior citizens.
