Kenneth L. Rechtin, Commissioner

Professional Career

Commissioner Rechtin has had a broad career from government service to business owner to management of family owned enterprises. Ken currently is a Commercial Loan Officer and Vice President for Farmers National Bank.

Public Service

Commissioner Rechtin was elected to the Campbell County Fiscal Court in 2002. Preceding his service to the Fiscal Couty, he served on the Newport City Commission for nine years.

Personal Background

Commissioner Rechtin and his wife Tina have been married for 34 years. The have four children, Zachary, Crosby, Elliot and daughter Hannah. They also have six grandchildren Tate, Ruben, Lilly, Oscar, Kade, and Brant. Some of his favorite hobbies are Racquetball, Beekeeping, and Grandfathering.

Education

Commissioner Rechtin graduated from Covington Latin School in 1966 and, while holding various full-time jobs, earned a degree in Biology from Northern Kentucky University in 1976. He took mediator and AOC training in the fall of 2003.

Community Involvement

Commissioner Rechtin is a Board Member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Community Pharmacy and is on the Board of Directors of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He is a Committee Member of the Government Forum and the Business Government Exchange Committees for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Commissioner Rechtin is a Former Board of Directors of the Newport Business Associations, served as board member and Chairman of the Diocese of Covington Board of Education, and was the founding Chairman of the Southbank River Cities Government Coalition. Commissioner Rechtin is a Board Director of Municipal Government League of Northern Kentucky, on the Board of Directors of Holly Hill, and is a Co Chair of the Government Structures Focus Team for Vision 2015. He is a Committee member of the “Newport Committee” for the NKU Center for Civic Engagement. Commissioner Rechtin is also a graduate of the Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2003 and from the Leadership Kentucky Class of 2005.
